About Steel Directive: City Zero

City Zero has gone dark, and you are the armored enforcer sent to take it back. Steel Directive: City Zero is a side-scrolling 2D action shooter where street gangs give way to deadly robots and heavy bosses as you fight across 20 distinct missions.

Each mission is more than a shooting gallery. Rescue civilians, gather evidence, knock out security systems and make it to extraction in one piece. To pull that off you have a serious toolkit: kneel behind tactical cover, scan the area, swap between multiple weapons, lob grenades, dodge incoming fire and pop a shield when the bullets get thick. Reloading at the wrong moment can be fatal, so plan your bursts.

The pace is fast but rewards a cool head, and the robots get meaner the deeper you go. It is free to play right in your browser with no download, on keyboard and mouse or with on-screen buttons on mobile.

How to Play

  1. Move with A and D or the arrow keys, and press Space to jump.
  2. Shoot with a mouse click or J, reload with R and switch weapons with Q.
  3. Press S or C to kneel behind cover, Shift to dodge, G to throw a grenade and F to raise your shield.
  4. Press E to interact or pick up weapons and V to scan for objectives.
  5. Complete each mission's goals and reach extraction. Press P to pause, and use on-screen buttons on mobile.

Tips

  • Kneel behind cover before you reload so you are never stuck swapping magazines in the open.
  • Scan with V when you enter a new area to find civilians, evidence and security systems faster.
  • Hold your shield and grenades for boss fights and robot packs instead of burning them on gang members.
