About Mahjong Cubes 3D
Mahjong Cubes 3D takes the tile-matching game everyone knows as mahjong solitaire and builds it out of cubes. Every cube shows the same mahjong tile on all six sides, and the cubes are stacked into a block: a slab, a tower, a pyramid, a heart, a full cube. Drag to turn the block in 3D, tap two cubes with the same tile, and they knock together and pop. Clear every cube to finish the board.
The rule that makes it a puzzle is which cubes you are allowed to take. A cube is free when two of its touching sides are open, for example its top and its left side. That means the corners and edges of a block come off first, and the cubes inside only become free once you have peeled away the ones around them. Free cubes are drawn bright and blocked ones are dimmed, so you can read the block at a glance, but choosing which free pair to take first still matters: taking a pair from one face can open up three new cubes on the next.
Each board has a clock. Every pair you clear gives back two seconds, and pairs taken within four seconds of each other build a combo worth up to five times the points, so a quick, steady rhythm scores far better than hunting around. Time left at the end becomes a bonus, and the bonus decides your stars. If you get stuck you have three hints per board, a Shuffle that deals new tiles to the cubes left (it costs ten seconds), and a free shuffle whenever no pair is left at all.
There are 15 levels, from a two-layer slab with six kinds of tile to a 144-cube grand block with thirty. Every board is dealt backwards from a finished solution, so each one can always be cleared. A Daily Block, the same for everyone on a given day, gives you a fresh shape every morning and a result you can copy and share.
The tiles are the classic set: characters, dots, bamboo, the four winds and the three dragons. Small numbers and wind letters in the corner help if you are new to reading mahjong tiles. It is free, needs no download or sign-up, and plays with a mouse or by touch.

How to Play
- Tap Play. The first board is a small slab so you can learn the rules.
- Drag anywhere to turn the block. Pinch or scroll to zoom, and tap View to snap back to the starting angle.
- Tap a cube to select it, then tap another cube with the same tile to clear the pair.
- Only free cubes can be taken: a cube needs two touching sides open, like its top and a side. Bright cubes are free, dim cubes are blocked.
- Clear the whole block before the clock runs out. Each pair adds two seconds; quick pairs in a row build a combo.
- Stuck? Hint lights up a free pair (three per board), and Shuffle deals new tiles to the cubes left for ten seconds.
Tips
- Turn the block before you commit. A pair you cannot see from the front is often waiting on the back face.
- When there are several copies of a tile, take the one that is blocking the most other cubes first.
- Edges of a face free up the face's centre. Clearing one row along an edge can open a whole layer underneath.
- Keep a steady rhythm: pairs within four seconds of each other multiply your points, up to five times.
- Save hints for the last third of a big block, where the remaining tiles are hardest to find.
FAQ
- Is Mahjong Cubes 3D free?
- Yes. It is free to play in any modern browser, with no download and no sign-up.
- Is it real mahjong?
- It is mahjong solitaire, the single-player matching game that uses mahjong tiles, not the four-player table game. Here the tiles are cubes in a 3D block instead of a flat layout.
- Which cubes can I take?
- A cube is free when two of its touching sides are open, such as its top and its left side. Opposite sides do not count: a cube open only on its top and bottom is still blocked. Free cubes are drawn bright and blocked ones are dimmed.
- Can every board be solved?
- Yes. Each board is dealt by taking pairs off a finished solution in reverse, so a way to clear it always exists. If you take pairs in an order that leaves no free match, the game shuffles the remaining tiles for free.
- What is the Daily Block?
- A new shape every day, the same for every player. It changes at midnight UTC, and after clearing it you can copy your time and score to share.
- Can I play it on a phone?
- Yes. Drag with one finger to turn the block, pinch to zoom and tap to pick cubes. It works held upright or sideways.
