About Jigsaw Puzzle: Daily Picture
Jigsaw Puzzle: Daily Picture is our own jigsaw game with twelve bright, detailed pictures made for it: a lighthouse at sunset, hot-air balloons over a valley, a mountain lake, city lights at night, a tropical beach, tulip fields, an autumn forest, a desert evening, a trip out into space, a snowy village, a fishing harbour and a blossom garden. Pick a picture and a size, from an easy 12 pieces up to a challenging 150, and the picture is cut into classic jigsaw pieces with round tabs and blanks. Every puzzle has its own cut and small changes to the picture, so the same scene never plays quite the same way twice.
Drag a piece onto its spot in the picture and it clicks into place. Two pieces that belong side by side click together wherever you join them, and from then on they move as one group, so you can build a corner or a whole stretch of sky off to the side and then slide it in. Snapping is generous, so you never have to line a piece up to the pixel. A faint copy of the picture on the board shows where things go; switch it off in the settings for a harder puzzle.
On a computer the loose pieces lie around the board, the way they would on a table. On a phone the board fills the screen's width and the pieces wait in a tray underneath (or beside it when the phone is on its side): swipe the tray to look through them, pull one out onto the board, or tap it to drop it on an empty part of the board. Drag a single piece back to the tray to put it away. Three free tools help you along. Edges shows only the border pieces, the usual place to start. Preview shows the whole picture. Scatter spreads the loose pieces out again so none hide under the others.
Every day there is a new daily picture, the same for everyone: one scene, one cut and 48 pieces, new at midnight UTC. Finish it within 90 seconds for the full 1000 points. After that each second costs one point, never going under 100, and your first finish of the day goes on the leaderboard. The clock stops while the game is paused or in the background.
The only paid item is a hint for 10 gems, which puts one piece in its place for you: a piece next to the part you have already finished, or a border piece if you have not started. Hints never change the daily score. Your puzzle is saved as you go, so you can close the page and carry on later, and the game keeps your best time for every picture and size. Jigsaw Puzzle: Daily Picture is free to play in your browser with no download or sign-up, and its pictures, sound effects and music are all made for the game.

How to Play
- Play today's daily picture, or pick one of twelve pictures and a size from 12 to 150 pieces.
- Drag a piece onto its spot in the picture and it locks in place.
- Join two pieces that belong side by side and they click together and move as one group.
- On a phone, pull pieces out of the tray under the board, or tap a piece to drop it on the board.
- Use Edges to see only the border pieces, Preview to see the whole picture and Scatter to spread the pieces out.
- Place every piece to finish the picture. In the daily picture, finish within 90 seconds for 1000 points.
Tips
- Start with the border. Tap Edges, find the four corners and build the frame first.
- Sort by colour: sky pieces, water pieces and ground pieces each go in their own region.
- Build small groups off to the side, then slide a whole group into the picture at once.
- Look at the shapes too. A piece with two tabs opposite each other only fits between two blanks.
- For a harder puzzle, switch off the faint picture on the board in the settings.
FAQ
- Are these jigsaw puzzles free?
- Yes. Every picture and every size is free to play in any modern browser, on a phone, tablet or computer, with no download and no sign-up.
- How many pieces can a puzzle have?
- Five sizes: 12, 24, 48, 96 or 150 pieces. Twelve pieces is a quick, relaxed puzzle; 150 pieces is a proper challenge. The daily picture is always 48 pieces.
- How does the daily picture work?
- Every day there is one daily picture, the same scene and the same 48-piece cut for everyone, new at midnight UTC. Your first finish of the day is scored and goes on the leaderboard. You can play it again afterwards, but replays don't change your score.
- How is the daily score worked out?
- You start with 1000 points. Finish within 90 seconds and you keep them all; after that every second costs one point, and the score never goes under 100. Hints never lower it. The clock stops while the game is paused or the page is hidden.
- Can I play jigsaw puzzles on my phone?
- Yes. On a phone the board fills the screen's width and the loose pieces wait in a scrolling tray: pull one out onto the board, or tap it to drop it there. Pieces snap into place generously, so you don't need to be exact.
- What do gems buy?
- Only hints. A hint costs 10 gems and puts one piece in its place for you. It never changes your score. Edges, Preview and Scatter are free, and your progress is saved as you go.
