About Slide Out
Slide Out is our own sliding-block escape puzzle. On a 6×6 wooden tray, blocks two or three cells long lie along the rows and columns, and each one slides only along its length. Blocks never turn, jump or pass through one another. Your job is to clear a path for the orange tiger block and slide it out through the gap in the right side of the tray.
There are 420 levels in five tiers: Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert and Master. Every level was built by the game's own generator and checked by its own solver, so each one shows the fewest moves it can be done in, from a handful on the first levels up to 51 on the last. Blocks that make no difference to the solution were taken off, so every block on the tray is part of the puzzle. All levels are open from the start, so you can jump straight to any tier.
A move is one block sliding any distance, counted the same way the solver counts. Moving the same block twice in a row counts as one move, and sliding it straight back takes the move back. Match the fewest moves for three stars, stay within a few extra moves for two (up to 18 on a 12-move level), and any other solve earns one. Undo and restart are free and unlimited, so you can try an idea and take it back. Each level keeps your best stars and fewest moves, and replaying can always improve them.
Drag a block and it follows your finger along its groove, stopping with a bump against the next block or the wall. A keyboard works too: Tab picks a block, the arrow keys slide it, U or Ctrl+Z undoes and R restarts. The clock stops while the game is paused or a menu covers the board. Each day also brings a daily puzzle of 12 to 25 moves, the same for everyone and never one of the 420 levels. Solve it each day to build a streak. A paid hint, which costs gems, plays the next move of a shortest solution from wherever you are, but a level solved with a hint earns at most two stars.
Only the daily puzzle scores for the leaderboard: fewer moves and a faster solve score more. Slide Out is free to play in your browser with no download or sign-up, and its wooden tray, blocks, sound effects and music are all made for the game.

How to Play
- Pick the daily puzzle or any level from the level list.
- Drag a block along its groove. Blocks slide only the long way and never pass another block.
- Clear a path along the third row for the orange tiger block.
- Slide the tiger block into the gap on the right side to get it out.
- One move is one block sliding any distance. Match the fewest moves for three stars.
- Undo and restart as often as you like. Solve the daily puzzle to post your score.
Tips
- Look at what blocks the tiger first, then at what blocks those blocks.
- A three-long block standing across the exit row can only clear it by going all the way down.
- One move is one block sliding any distance, so slide a block the whole way when that helps.
- Undo and restart are free. Try an idea, see where it leads, then take it back.
- Keep an eye on the Fewest count under the board. If you are far past it, restart and try a different first move.
FAQ
- Is Slide Out free?
- Yes. It is free to play in any modern browser, with no download and no sign-up.
- What is the daily puzzle?
- One board of 12 to 25 moves, the same for everyone that day and never one of the regular levels. It changes at midnight UTC, and solving it each day builds your streak. A solved daily can't be played again for a second score.
- How do the stars work?
- Three stars for the fewest possible moves, two for staying within the fewest plus a third of it plus two (18 on a 12-move level), and one for any other solve. A level solved with a hint earns at most two stars.
- How is the score worked out?
- Only the daily puzzle scores. A solve in the fewest moves that takes par time or longer is worth 1,000, and an instant one 2,000. Par is 30 seconds plus 8 seconds per move of the shortest solution. Taking twice the fewest moves halves the score.
- Is there a hint?
- Yes, a paid one that costs gems: it plays the next move of a shortest solution from your current position, even after a detour. It counts as a move and caps the level at two stars. Undo and restart are always free.
- What counts as a move?
- One block sliding any distance. Sliding the same block again right away still counts as one move, and sliding it straight back to where it came from takes the move back.
