About Sudoku Daily
Sudoku Daily is our own take on the classic number puzzle. Fill the 9×9 grid so that every row, every column and every 3×3 box holds the digits 1 to 9 once each. Every puzzle has exactly one solution, and you never need to guess: each one can be solved by reasoning alone.
Each day brings a new daily puzzle at four difficulties, Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert, and everyone gets the same ones. Solve one a day to build a streak. When you want more, free play makes a brand-new puzzle at any difficulty every time you start one. The difficulty is set by the solving techniques a puzzle needs, not just by how many digits are given. Easy needs only singles; Medium brings in pairs, triples and pointing pairs; Hard calls for X-Wings and XY-Wings; Expert asks for swordfish, XYZ-Wings and colouring.
Tap a cell, then a number. The number pad shows how many of each digit are still to place. Switch on the pencil to write notes, and placing a digit clears that digit from the notes around it. A digit that breaks the rules turns red at once, together with the one it clashes with, and the row, column and box of the selected cell are tinted so you can scan them quickly. A finished row, column or box flashes, and a solved puzzle sends a wave across the board.
Undo is free and unlimited, notes included. The clock stops while the game is paused or covered by a menu, and pausing hides the board. Progress is saved after every move, one game per difficulty for the daily puzzles and for free play, so you can leave a puzzle and pick it up again later. A keyboard works too: arrows to move, digits to fill in, N for the pencil.
Every solve scores points for the leaderboard: more for harder puzzles, up to double for a fast solve, and mistakes never count against you. Sudoku Daily is free to play in your browser with no download or sign-up, and every puzzle comes from its own generator, made fresh in your browser.

How to Play
- Pick the daily puzzle or free play, and a difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard or Expert.
- Fill the grid so every row, column and 3×3 box holds 1 to 9 once each.
- Tap a cell, then a number on the pad. The pad shows how many of each digit are left.
- Turn on the pencil to write small notes of the digits a cell could be.
- A digit that repeats in its row, column or box turns red at once.
- Undo as often as you like. Solve the puzzle to post your score.
Tips
- Start with the digits that already appear most often. They have the fewest places left to go.
- Look at one box at a time and ask where each missing digit can go. Often there is only one cell.
- Pencil in the two or three digits a cell could be, then look for two cells in a unit that share the same pair.
- When a digit can only go in one row or column of a box, it can't go anywhere else in that row or column.
- On Hard and Expert, keep your notes complete. The advanced techniques depend on seeing every candidate.
FAQ
- Is Sudoku Daily free?

- Does every puzzle have one solution?
- Yes. Every puzzle has exactly one solution and can be solved by logic, without guessing.
- How is the score worked out?

- Is there a hint?
- Yes, a paid one that costs gems: it fills in one cell and tells you which technique finds it, or fixes a wrong digit first. Undo and notes are always free.
